UI9 RP-remote

Of course, you realize… the scary thing about this and this and this and this and this and this?

In the true essence of what’s going on here, the process could actually spider out from the central loop, backing out to hit every other possible node. Which means you technically don’t even need to have been at UI9 to play along…

The Recursion Project

Or to insert your own interim node:

The Recursion Project

Now, it’s true. I don’t think this yet beats The Inifinite Cat Project. But we really don’t need any more blogs with pictures of cats on them, do we?.

Obviously, there are much more creative uses that are possible for this. Those shall be up to you.

Doug, I think you’ve opened up a hole that will eventually swallow the entire internet — and then explode. Love it.

The camera pictures lose their distinction after they reach level 2. Why not just do some screen captures and point to each other’s permalink posts?

To be honest. Does it have any sense?

I love how some people got confused by it and started taking picture of thier cellphone taking a picture.

I have to wait till I get my camera from home.

I wonder how big the wormhole will be when its all said and done ..

I hope people link it correctly.

    Wow, Doug . . .

“the process could actually spider out from the central loop, backing out to hit every other possible node.”

    Tangential and non-linear. Beautiful.

The idea now is to do a very complex loop at SXSW.

    Answer to: Peter Usewicz

I don’t think it has to make sense, I think it is just something funny, to which you can participate, without being someone special, you don’t even need to have a famous site. It’s just open. Then comes the creative part at the beginning it was just people taking their cameras, then Doug started by taking a picture of the picture, but we can imagine many things (imagine someone with a laptop that takes a picture of his screen, where you can see the ayer’s rock behind for example :)). And finally, I think it is kind a way to discover new websites.

The particularity of this project, in contrary to the cat’s one is that it’s quite more difficult to find the really first photo taken !

Not only do I not get it, I don’t want to get it.

This sort of thing won’t reach critical mass until an actual circle jerk takes place, thereby making real the long-promised potential of weblogs ;)

Why did the chicken cross the Mobius strip? … oh, never mind.

I envy the amount of time you have to do pointless things :-S

Well, that took me 5 minutes. Taking the picture. Transfering it to my hard drive. Uploading to my web server. Posting it to my blog… maybe 10 minutes..

Someone will find a way of breaking it

This is actually kind of retro. See this book cover from the mid-90’s, which was influenced, in turn, by this album cover from the late 60’s.

This is a common theme in paintings/drawings as well. Certainly not the earliest is the Triple Self Portrait by Rockwell (1951 I think)

Wow! Thanks for the great idea.
