Feel like you reinvent the structural wheel every time you generate HTML for a new site? Since the birth of the Web, we’ve created freeform structures limited only by the confines of markup specs and browser support. Microformats exist as a means of standardizing the structure of similar pieces of content. But what about something on a macro level that ties the pieces together? An optional framework adopted voluntarily across millions of sites. What might this structure look like? How would it be adopted? Who benefits? Why on earth would anyone use such a thing? Is it possible to navigate the political waters to develop a common structure anyone around the globe could use?
